ALL tests will be assigned and completed in class unless arranged otherwise with the professor. If you are absent for class and miss a test, you will be given a grade of “0.” There are no exceptions except for illness supported by a medical note. If you are ill, contact the professor before class. A medical note is required if an accommodation for a missed test or exam is to be considered. Please note: This schedule is subject to change

Missed Tests: Provided that you notify the professor before class and you provide a medical note for your absence, you will be permitted to write the test outside of class time.



Please follow the instructions in your PSW manual regarding missed tests.

What If I Have Appointments? •

Work obligations, regular medical or dentist appointments, transportation arrangements, etc. do not count as legitimate reasons for missing class; therefore, in-class exercises or other assignments / missed tests or exams due to these reasons cannot be made up at a later date.

Use of Electronic Devices in Class •

Please thoroughly read the Course Outline, PSW Manual and the posted Algonquin College Policies on HLT0300 Brightspace Course regarding use of mobile devices in class. These policies will be strictly followed.

Know Your Responsibilities •

Please ensure you read and understand the course expectations and all assigned work including self-study. It is your responsibility to bring to the professor’s attention any issues that are unclear to you.



It is necessary to regularly check Brightspace announcements and your Algonquin email account, as they are primary methods for providing you information outside of class.



You are obligated to bring your Algonquin College (AC Card) photo ID to all tests / exams as your proof of student identification to write tests / exams. No other form of ID will be accepted.

Email  Use your Algonquin email account to contact your professor. Emails that do not conform to basic standards of

clarity and professionalism will not be answered.  I will check email Monday through Friday; between the hours of 9am and 4pm. Emails sent after 4pm on a weekday will not be addressed until the following business day. I will not be checking email on weekends.
