Academic Integrity Academic integrity is simple. Do the work yourself, or at least give credit where it is due. Explaining academic integrity to a fellow student I would say that it means doing your assignments to the best of your ability without using external assistance, and if you must use outside assistance, be sure to give credit in the appropriate manner. Schools and Universities need to uphold academic integrity for multiple reasons. One reason being if students are using a person’s work and not giving credit, it’s not fair to the original author because there’s a lot of time, hard work, and effort that goes into publishing these writings. Another reason being that in today's world, many people want instant gratification and being able to copy and paste something means being able to get the work done quicker and easier; if schools and universities do not hold students accountable, people will continue to plagiarize and cheat. Online education is seeing a huge issue with students maintaining academic integrity. I feel we must work twice as hard to maintain academic integrity versus those in the physical classroom because there is a use lack of peer and instructor pressure not to take the easy way out. As a student, I will go the extra mile to ensure that all coursework I complete is truly my own and if I do use outside resources, I will be sure to give credit where credit is due. I will also run all written assignments through Lopeswrite, to be positive that all work was
