When you're a junior engineer looking for your first job, it can feel like you're flying blind. You may be armed with general notions about the engineering job market. Engineers are in demand, salaries are relatively high, unemployment is low, and more. What you might not have is context on what finding your first job will look like. How many companies should you be applying to? What kind of starting salary is normal? What roles should you even be applying for? This activity will help to make me understand the different requirements an engineer applying may have, and also get me to start on what in the future I´ll have to deal with.

The idea of this Task is that you can notice that most of the Companies need Engineers with a high level of English.

4. Write a text (2 pages) with an analysis as a graduated engineer about the real possibilities that you have to get a job according to the chart that you completed before. Nothing in this world worth having comes easy!! So, searching for a job is both easy and difficult. Easy in the sense, that you can certainly get a job, however this job may not be that exciting where I will be able to enjoy it. It will be a job which will not be that good were one can boast yourself about high pay, good promotions, and financial growth. It will be an routine job like any other normal job were you even after contributing hours and hours of work the growth would be normal. Difficult in the sense , a job which gives you great future , financial growth, passion, niche and special and is certainly difficult to get. Based on experiences and other employers’ guidance, once you can get nothing like it; you will like every part of the job. Let it be the challenge involved, specialty, uniqueness etc. And which you will never repent in the future for accepting it. The different advises I got was mostly to first complete your engineering graduation and then apply for the area of the engineering/specialization which you are most comfortable and able at and which you love the most . Having realized that area, go and try for the most competitive and difficult job in that area. With that being written, guess it answers most of the questions. But I must not lose hope, engineering is an ocean of a field. In the Big Bad world of occupations engineering ranges from maintenance to R&D. from I´ve been told I need to understand first what field of engineering excites me the most. Read up and research the kind of opportunities that are available to each field and also what kind experiences would each field bring. But what I really need to comprehend, is to understand that this could be something you have to do for the rest of your life, so make sure you love it and don't just pick a field just because it's valued by other people. From my sister who has just 4 years working, she told me that one way to job search is going directly to the streets and leave resumes, that is just the way it is, it is basically the hardest (in terms of time and effort) way for a company to find out about you, and they are probably getting hundreds of applications a day. However as difficult as it sounds, it is necessary, then as time has progressed, I need to start using and familiarizing with the online resources we currently have. With all, I do not have to be discouraged by all the complicated things getting my first job may encounter. After all, to do this homework I needed to actually start a formal job search, is just that I didn’t actually apply, however what gave me kind of relieve, was the fact that even thought we currently are amidst a global disease and quarantine, the job market is still in need of undergraduate students like myself to apply with them.

In hindsight most of the qualifications of the offers need a good knowledge at systems which I’m not currently too keen of, however what I’ve realized at my college education is that globalization moves the world, and a big advantage is your possibility and skills at learning other languages, after all there’s not a single business that doesn’t require doing negotiations or other tasks abroad. And given my education and preparation I feel confident that I have a good English level, which at a comparison with other applicants comes handy. After all, I’ve learned that other skills can be learned at the same time you are working. Another good thing I see in me is the great personality, in other words, I enjoy working as a team, taking the leadership if necessary, I´m well organized, also enjoy a great time management, simple but effective planning and other great qualities, that I know can be really good at applying for a job. But all of this is not a resume, but just an analysis of how the job search will be for me, and given this I must start to filter what I really what to become and shape my future, start not just searching on one site but many others, as well as trying to add to my resume so that I can be appealing to headhunters, as well as making connections through known people, as no one can reach far alone. In conclusion: In this activity we were able to realize how important English is since in almost all companies, the main requirement is English at a good level, obviously if you want to excel at whatever you work. It is necessary to have the knowledge of what English culture is to be able to associate with the language and to be able to grow professionally in a job.
