Description

GERMANY The aim of our presentation today is to present Germany and its characteristics. We have divided our presentation into 4 parts. First, we’d like to talk about the population (culture) then we will move to the job sectors, after that we will focus on civil servants and finally, we will deal with ranking. o Let’s move on to the next part: job sectors The average working hours is 40 hours in a week and approximately 2000 hours in a year. It is higher than in France which is 35h per week. In Germany the purchasing power is high: almost 22 000€ per inhabitant in 2017. Germany is ranked in the top 10 among European countries with the best purchasing power. France again is ranked back. The minimum wage is 1,498€ and 8.84€ per hour. it is quite similar as in France. The unemployment rate is very low only 3.7% of the working population is jobless. In France this rate is 3 time bigger.

o Let’s move on to the next part: civil servants Civil servants represent 14% of the working population and their average wage is 1,500€ per month and it is lower than the private service.

Unemployment benefits

The first year they earn on average 60% of their net salary and then they earn 460€/month. The unemployment benefits decline if the person refuses an employment. 

Social problems

There are few social problems like the aging of the population. There is also a low birth rate. So, there isn’t a generation renewal. Furthermore 20% of the population leave under the poverty line and the inequalities between the poor and the wealthiest are rather high. 

Power of unions

Power of unions is rather high because the German are well-paid (they earn 41,800€/year and the French people earn 33,574€/year), so they have a greater power of unions then the French, and the cost of living isn’t high.  It’s an attractive country to live in because German are well-paid, and the economy is developed and better than in France. It is an attractive country to work in because we can easily find a job than in France because the population is aging....
