Anth107 11/29/2018 Outside Activity ⅔ How the Human Mind was Born (as titled from Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOY6MObOod4&t=1071s ) This documentary basically talks about the buildings of social construct through beads. So beads have been found throughout the badlands to cave sites in Turkey. When early travelers leave Africa, their beads get more complex and personal. Theory of the more beads you have the different meanings they had behind it. Giving individuality to the wearer which wasn’t really a thing before. It was being estimated by the Anthropologist that people were spending thousands of hours just making beads. This proves the social revolution within modern humans and probably why we see certain items as a form of social status like necklaces and bracelets. What I didn’t think about was all the time spent into making these beads. Having to use a stone tool just to make a rough small hole was very interesting to me...
