Students cultivate their understanding of physics through classroom study, problem solving skills, and hands-on, inquiry-based laboratory work as they explore these topics: Kinematics, Dynamics, Circular Motion and Gravitation, Energy, Momentum, Simple Harmonic Motion, Torque and Rotational Motion, Electric Charge and Electric Force, DC Circuits and Mechanical Waves and Sound. Exam Date: Thursday May 7, 2020, 12 PM Required Materials     

Lab Notebook A complete lab notebook should be maintained by students. All lab work must be kept in a composition notebook with your name, school year, and class on it. NO PAGES MAY BE RIPPED OUT OR REMOVED! Please keep this notebook until you go to college. You may be able to present this to your Physics department, in conjunction with a passing AP Physics exam grade, to receive credit for a Physics lab.

Homework Classwork Labs Tests & Quizzes

Extra Credit will be available at the teacher’s sole discretion and is NOT guaranteed. Quizzes: Quizzes will be conducted on the specific topics in each unit and will be announced by the teacher and posted on the Canvas Learning Management Platform. Unit Tests: Unit tests will be a combination of AP type multiple choice (MCQ) and free response questions (FRQ). The dates of unit tests are posted on the Canvas page. Along with the unit tests, there will be a final exam at the end of each semester. Retake Policy for tests and quizzes: Students are allowed to retake tests and quizzes for a better grade. For this, they need to complete a form. More information will be provided by the teacher. Late or missing work: For all labs, one week will be given to complete the lab work. All other assignments in each unit are due on the day of the unit exam. Late work will be accepted up to a week with 20% penalty. Cheating and Plagiarism With the advancements in technology, it is easy for students to copy or cheat on tests and quizzes. Any form of cheating will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to: a) Copying someone’s assignment and turning in b) Copying work from websites and turning it as your work c) Completing and submitting assignment for your friend(s) d) Editing other’s work without their permission.

Cheating is an AUTOMATIC REFERRAL, a NON REPLACEABLE ZERO, and a phone call home for all students involved. Additional Help If you have questions at any time, you can email me, and I will respond ASAP. Additional tutoring will be available on Mondays and Thursdays from 3:05 to 5 PM and on Wednesday during lunch by appointment.
