Question 2 46669706 SA (A) The relationship that is being predicted between the variables in this study is that it is predicted that students believe that they're getting more scholarship money when they graduate then they will perform better in college, this is a positive correlation, or direct relationship, as the belief that scholarship money is increasing increases, so will the performance. (B) He's studying a representative population, and that population would be that of high school students who are graduating in the near future. (C) one possible valid operational definition of “school performance,” would be to measure an individual's school performance, you can either observe their grade point average (GPA), or simply observe their letter grades, and whether they fall within an ideal range, the researcher could set a scale suggesting that good school performance would be letter grades of A's and B's oh, well subpar school performance would be C's and D's, and poor school performance would be F’s. (D) The third variable problem is a problem that often occurs in correlational studies, in which the correlation between two variables might actually be attributed to some external variable that is not intentionally being tested. In this instance the third variable might be the quality of service being provided by the teachers at the schools which the students attend. having poor teachers who choose not to teach, or do you not teach in a way that works for the students in the class could lead to poor academic performance even though students are equally as motivated as students at a school who are receiving proper teaching. this would skew the results and if there is a correlation between the variables being tested, it might make it appear as if that's not so. (E) an experimental version of this study might not be ethical, due to the possibility of third variable problem that I discussed in part D, along with the fact is that the college admissions process is one that has been worked on by large corporations for many years, and Performing such an experiment guaranteeing students admission, or great quantities of scholarship money to get into colleges that they may not have gotten into before can be unfair to the remainder of the population that is not in the experimental group, because individuals in this experiment might take the places in colleges of students who are more deserving of the positions. (F) Incentive theory is an idea that suggests that individuals will exhibit a certain Behavior or perform a certain activity, if they know that there will be a positive outcome for them. If students are made well aware of the fact that it will be easier for them to obtain a higher-paying job more quickly when they graduate college,

if they perform well academically, then they will be more inclined to perform well in high school in order to obtain the scholarship money in order to attend college so that their life is easier in the following years....
