Appendix Game of Thrones-Game of Thrones Is set in a fiction medieval time period where there is a power struggle between the Lords of the Kingdoms in Westeros. As the rulers are picked off due to this civil war their heir to the kingdom must step up and fight to acquire the crown, the iron throne of the seven kingdoms. As the show begins Robert Baratheon is King of the seven Kingdoms married to Cersei Lannister who has two sons Joffrey Baratheon and Tommen Baratheon. King Robert asked Eddard ‘Ned’ Stark married to Catelyn Stark, Lord of Winterfell to be his advisor but when Robert dies from a hunting accident Ned was to take over reign until Joffrey comes to age. Cersei upset her son wasn’t crowned King immediately manipulated the castle and Ned Stark was beheaded for treason under King Joffrey’s command. This started a Civil war between the kingdoms where every Lord thought they had every right to be King of the Iron throne. Whispers circled about Joffrey and Tommen being a product of incest between Cersei and her brother Jamie Lannister that would strip the Baratheon House title and there claim as rightful King. Joffery was betrothed to Ned Stark’s daughter Sansa but marries to Margaery Tyrell who supports the Lannister’s claim as heir to the throne and provides them with food rations and military support. Daenerys Targaryen daughter of the Man King who reined before Roberta Baratheon lives in exile of Westeros but conquers multiple lands east of Westeros creating an army, which includes three dragons to take back her rightful seat in the Iron Throne. The target Audience of this show is male adults ranging from eighteen to early thirties as the show is vulgar in regards to language, brutality, violence and sex. Season 4 episode 2- The Lion and the Rose Modern Family- Modern family is a sitcom comedy expressing how America’s traditional American dream family comprised of a working father, stay at home mother and a few kids model has changed to this “Modern Family.” This show is set in the suburbs of Los Angeles and follows Jay Pritchett and his family. Jay has two children Claire Dunphy and Mitchell Pritchett who have families of their own. Claire is married to Phil Dunphy and they have three children, Haley, Alex and Luke. Mitchell being gay gets married to his partner Cameron Tucker and they adopt a Vietnamese baby girl named Lily Tucker- Pritchett. Jay being divorced from Claire and Mitchells mother is remarried to a beautiful Latina woman, Gloria Delgado- Pritchett’s who is about twenty years younger than Jay and already has a son, Manny Delgado from a previous relationship. Jay already being a grandfather has another son, Fulgencio Joseph "Joe" Pritchett, with Gloria and this comprises this new type of American Family. The target audience is teenagers to older adults, as the show is comical but not necessarily kid appropriate Season 4 Episode 12- Party Crasher The Sopranos is a drama centered on the protagonist, Tony Soprano and how he juggles family and work life. The Sopranos are a traditional Italian American family that reside in New Jersey and take part in the breed winner- homemaker model as Tony’s wife, Carmela gets an allowance from him. Carmela and Tony have the typically American dream as they are well off and have two beautiful kids, Anthony and Meadow. The only this that is far from ordinary in this family is that Tony is the head of

the Mafia. Under Tony’s control there are other “captains” that run their organized crime. Some important characters include Tonys nephew, Christopher Moltisanti, Silvio Dante, And Paulie Gaulier as they all refer themselves as “the family” The show highlights Tonys personal an family issues along with his dealing in “the business” Target audience is young adults as there are violent and inappropriate language and scenes.
