Assignment Canada’s Greatest Entrepreneur Poster! Definition Entrepreneur: a person who takes risks and starts a venture to solve a problem or to take advantage of an opportunity; a person who provides an innovative product or service to meet a consumer want or need (source: textbook)

Background Entrepreneurs have contributed to the wealth and quality of life experienced by citizens in Canada. Your task is to create a poster displaying a profile of a single Canadian entrepreneur that has made a significant difference to Canadians. You can do your assignment on any Canadian entrepreneur who lived, anywhere from the beginning of Canada until currently. Your goal will be to convince the class and possibly other students that your Entrepreneur is the best!

Your Poster must include:         

Who was/is the entrepreneur? What did he/she do? What type of product/business? (good or service? Type of industry?) What did he/she do to prepare themselves to be an entrepreneur (school, experience, background)? When did they become an entrepreneur? When did they lead their company? Where did they do business (locally, nationally, internationally?) and with whom? Why did they become an entrepreneur? What personality traits, characteristics and skills did/do they have that makes them a successful entrepreneur? How significant of an entrepreneur were they? How did they help their business do well? What did they accomplish? What impact did they have on Canadian or International society? Why are they the greatest Canadian Entrepreneur? Add any other facts that you think are interesting or important

Be creative!  Make your poster visually appealing; add images, colours, borders etc.  Make titles and important text stand out Poster Fair You will be sharing your poster with the class in a poster fair. Every student will have their poster up and students will walk around the room and have a chance to see and ask questions about each other’s entrepreneur. You should be prepared to speak about your entrepreneur, answer questions and convince students that yours is the best. We will then vote for who the greatest Canadian Entrepreneur is.
