Ubiquity; E-commerce occurs on the web so wherever one can obtain the internet they can shop anywhere. Global reach; The internet is a global feature which allows the e-commerce market place to have a global reach and surpass national boundaries. Universal standards; There is only one set of technology standard and that is the internet Richness; There are many ways to communicate the product to customers because there is video and audio technology available Ineteractivity; There is interactivity because the technology of the web works through the interaction of users. Information density; The technology of e-commerce reduces information costs and raises the quality of information given Personalization; e-commerce technology allows companies to personalize their marketing to the users but also allows for the users to personalize their purchases. Social technology; E-commerce technology also allows for social networks and interactions to be used.

What is information asymmetry and disintermediation? ! Information asymmetry is the study of decisions in transactions where one party has more information than the other and disintermediation is the reduction in the use of intermediaries between producers and consumers.
