Description

Auralia Step-by-step Instructions MUSC 1503 Fundamentals of Music 1. To complete a Weekly Auralia Test (WAT), set aside an entire hour and head to either Room S502 (Seymour Centre Level 5) or the Sydney Conservatorium Music Technology labs. Set yourself up in one of the computer terminals. If there is a class there quietly head to a closed section of the room. Please do not eat at the computers. 1. Log in to the computer using your student username and password. 2. Click on the Finder option in the dock and find Auralia under Applications. 3. When prompted enter your name and password. Your Auralia Username (or Name) is your Student ID. Your password is your Surname as it is on the university records. (If you have a hyphenated/multiple surname, try both then without hyphen, if you experience difficulties contact me.) NB. There is an option that can be clicked to create your own for students who do not have an Auralia username and password, DO NOT click this option or you won't find your tests, your marks will not be registered and none of your tests will count. If you have issues with Auralia software itself please contact me. Keep your SID private and confidential. 4. Do some practice questions based on the relevant topics and their respective levels for that week before doing your test. Not only will these serve as warmups, you will also have an opportunity to check if there are any issues with the sound, volume, software or hardware of the terminal you are using before you get started with the test. 5. When you are ready, click "Start Test". A popup window will appear. Select the test for that week, e.g Funds 1 MUSC 1503 - Test 1, Which, will appear in the Customs Tests box on the number of replays you are allowed for each topic. 6. Go for it and good luck!!

Notes: WATs are posted on Tuesday morning every week and withdrawn on the Monday the following week. You have 3 attempts at this test each week. Your highest scoring attempt for each test will be the one that counts toward your aggregate. Remember you must complete each test attempt in one sitting and within an hour; otherwise it is likely your test will crash and your mark not recorded. You cannot pause a test and resume it later. It will count as a fail. You can do each attempt on different days if you wish. S502 is available from Monday to Saturday during work hours (closed Sunday). Unfortunately, if you miss a test, you have missed it for good so plan ahead. For general computer terminal help call ICT Helpdesk 9351 6000. Your tutors will not be able to help you with issues arising from technical difficulties....
