   1. When a solution of hydrogen chloride is added to solid sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3), the products are carbon dioxide, water, and aqueous sodium chloride. HCl(aq) + NaHCO3(s) --> CO2(g) + H2O(l) + NaCl(aq)   2. Steam (gaseous water) reacts with carbon at high temperatures to produce carbon monoxide and hydrogen gases. H2O(g) + C(s) --> CO(g) + H2(g)   3. Limestone, CaCO3, decomposes when heated to produce lime, CaO, and gaseous carbon dioxide. CaCO3(s) --> CaO(s) + COs(g)   4. Ethyl alcohol (a liquid), C2H6O, burns in the air to produce carbon dioxide and gaseous water. C2H6O(l) + 3 O2(g) --> 2 CO2(g) + 3 H2O(l)   5. Solid titanium (IV) chloride reacts with water, forming solid titanium (IV) oxide and aqueous hydrogen chloride. TiCl4(s) + 2 H2O(l) --> TiO2(s) + 4 HCl(aq)   6. At high temperatures, the gases chlorine and water react to produce hydrogen chloride and oxygen gases. 2 Cl2(g) + 2 H2O(g) --> 4 HCl(g) + O2(g)   7. Steel wool (nearly pure Fe) burns in air to form the solid iron oxide, Fe2O3. 4Fe(s) + 3O2(g) --> 2 Fe2O3(s)   8. During photosynthesis in plants, carbon dioxide, and water are converted into glucose, C6H12O6, and oxygen gas. 6CO2(g) + 6H2O(g) --> C6H12O6(s) + 6O2(g)   9. Solutions of calcium hydroxide, Ca(OH)2, and nitric acid, HNO3, react to produce water and aqueous calcium nitrate, Ca(NO3)2. Ca(OH)2(aq) + 2HNO3(aq) --> 2 H2O(l) + Ca(NO3)2(aq)
