Description

POS-301 March 23, 2018 Short Essay Questions 1. After the Constitution Convention, delegates went back to their states to ratify the Constitution; however, several people who opposed the Constitution, Anti-Federalists, argued that the Constitution threatens state and peoples power (Bill of Rights, n.d.). The whole point of America was to give people power in government. To keep both Federalists and Anti-Federalists happy, James Madison went through the Constitution adding elements that he saw fit. From there it went to the House and Senate where 12 of the original 17 amendments were ratified (Bill of Rights, n.d.). The Bill of rights was key in passing the Constitution and making both the government and people happy. 2. Enumerated powers are specific powers given to Congress through the Constitution (Article I, 2014). Their enumerated powers are addressed in Article I section 8 of the Constitution. Some of congresses powers are to tax and spend text, borrowing power to text, naturalization, post offices, and military. This gives the Congress power in the government throughout the Constitution and Bill of Rights. The enumerated powers are the powers that are laid out and written down for the Congress to use. These powers talk about what Congress can do and basically how to use them.
