2 Introduction

This is a reflective report on Business Strategy Game (BSG) for Freebok Company. Operation of this athletic footwear company was analyzed on the basis of a neck-and-neck competition with the other nine companies for worldwide leadership in the market. It therefore, competes against rival companies for athletic footwear run by other members of the class. The company was ranked at number six out of the total nine in the Industry 9 Scoreboard. It makes reference to The Business Strategy Game: Competing in a Global Marketplace. This report highlights the specific strategic decision making processes that have helped Freebok in key decision making process to see it rank higher among rival footwear companies. The report therefore focuses on the essential strategies, how they can be implemented and various measures of success to confirm the workability of these strategies. I also suggested an action plan in addition to the given content, which will help in achieving the set financial and market goals. It also helps in gaining a competitive advantage among rival companies which are ranked high from evaluation on previous years’ performance. In the simulation, things went well with BSG analysis for Freebok Company because I absorbed the Player’s Guide contents and had a strong grip on the kind of exercises involved, Freebok’s market character and different cause-effect relationships governing operations of the company. Certain important information which helped in the simulation and analysis of Freebok Company in due course of the game which already ended is the information to do with the debtto-assets ratio, the interest coverage ratio, the default risk ratio, the current ration, operation cash flows, inventory days, and ratio of dividend payout (Budler & Trkman, 2017). The issue at hand is that, due to the low ranking of the Company among other competing footwear companies, certain key decision making processes were involved in line with BSG.
