The purpose of this report is use Ryerson Universities Library and

Archives (R.U.L.A) to analyze Canadian Tire, and to inform the TRSM prospective employers about the company. !

In order to analyze Canadian Tire I would have to find various

information to make sure that what I research about is correct. My research is based on visiting the Canadian Tire website and figuring out what Canadian Tire has to say about it’s company. Then I am visiting other resources through the Ryerson library and figuring out more about the company.!

Canadian Tires business strategy focuses on automotive, retail and

online sales. These business strategy helps grow and develop the company. Based on Business Insights Global the company has over 13 million dollars (Canadian) in revenue (“Business Insights: Global”). Canadian Tire owns many large retail companies like FGL Sports which is the largest sporting goods retailer in Canada. FGL Sports works to manage retail store like Sports Chek. Much of Canadian Tires revenue comes from FGL Sports. Over the years Canadian Tire has managed to it’s annualized rate of 4.8% to a whopping $2.1 million (“IBIS World Canada”). Canadian Tire’s goal is “Innovate with a purpose”. This means that

Canadian Tire is working hard to find efficient ways to introduce something new that also’s impacts the community in a positive way. !

Canadian Tire is well established company. However every company

its own strengths and weaknesses. CT has many strengths with may include: They have there toes dipped into various categories like online sales, automotive and retail. CT is also Canada’s largest retailer. CT however, does have some weaknesses like they are not a global company. The one advantage that most of Canadian Tires competitors have is that they are a global company. Companies like Home Hardware are companies on a global scale which helps them generate more revenue and helps them achieve there goals on a bigger scale. Once Canadian Tire becomes global then it would help them become the largest retail company in the world (“Canadian Tire”).! "

Canadian Tire has set it’s culture to make sure all their employees

are appreciated fro there hard work and contribution. Canadian Tire has create and online hub which allows employees to communicate with each other and allows them to receive special points to purchase merchandise. CT has created a program for their employees that recognizes all the hard work there employees are doing. This CEO sponsored program awards the

most outstanding achievement all over the company to its outstanding employees (“Canadian Tire”).! "

Canadian Tire is extremely dedicated to it’s community. CT

understood the importance of natural resources by reducing greenhouse gases, producing less toxic waste and consumed less resources. Canadian Tire has taken the initiative to implement a new waste facility in Brampton to ensure that all materials are getting recycled and thrown away properly. Canadian Tire has also took a social step in their communities. CT has put in hard work into making sure that employees have safe working conditions. When Rana Plaza collapsed Canadian Tire realized that they need to improve safety in Bangladesh. Canadian tire brought upon the Alliance for Bangladesh Worker Safety. Since the Incident Canadian Tire has made sure to have regular health and safety inspection in all their factors in Bangladesh (“Canadian Tire”).!

Adding on to health and safety of the company CT also works hard

to provide health benefits to it’s employees. CT provides dental coverage, family coverage, Maternity top-up programs for mothers and many other benefits. Not only does Canadian Tire work hard to make sure that they

communities around them is health but also make sure that employees also get covered (“Yerema, R., Leung, K., & Mediacorp ,2017”).!

In conclusion, Canadian Tire has shown Canadians what Canada is

really about. Canadian Tire is not just about making revenues (which by the end of the report you have realized a bit more about their financial statements) but also works hard to create a sustainable environment for its customers and it employees. Canadian Tire takes initiative to take care of the work environment not just in Canada but in all countries they have factories in. Canadian Tire has also shown the amount for benefits they give their employees and how they have healthy working conditions. Canadian Tire also generates great amounts of revenue and works hard to grow the Canadian Economy. !

I will defiantly recommend TRSM prospective employees to work at

Canadian Tire because throughout my research using RULA I have shown how much the company cares for the community around them and there employees. Also with CT works hard to give employees various benefits which help employees enjoy working at Canadian Tire. I would definitely recommend it. !
