2. Which Activities have a slack time of 8 weeks or more? With reference to the PERT Diagram the Activities which have slacks of 8 or more weeks are as following: C(11), K(11), L(8), M(8), N(18), Q(9), R(9), V(12), W(12).Y(12) and Z(12)

3. Identify 5 major challenges a project manager faces in events such as this one. For events like Hard Roc’s Rockfest the Project Manager usually faces the following 5 major challenges: 1. Deadlines: A major challenge faced by project managers in cases like Hard Rock is the fact that managers have to meet up with impossible deadlines. These deadlines have been placed unrealistically or probably the interference from uncertain situations. 2. Insufficient Communication: A project manager should always be available be able to communicate the project goals, expectations and needs to the team members effectively. In cases like this, a project manager may be faced with the challenge of effectively keeping members of the team motivated and adequately informed. A solution will be to increase the levels of collaboration by incorporating collaborative platforms. 3. Expectations: Project Manager’s face issues regarding poor expectations. A project manager should be susceptible to all forms of interruptions all through the project. A solution will be to make provision for risk management and supposed interruption in the project cycle. 4. Inadequate skills of Teammates:

If members of the project team are not able to

adequately incorporate skills necessary to be possessed by members, the project manager will be held accountable for the team’s poor skill set. A solution will be to document the

skills each member possesses in order to deduce the members that are trained and skilled for the project. 5. Risk Assessment: A project manager must be able to reduce the possibilities of risk. A challenge faced by the managers is the fact that they cannot predict the outcome of uncertainties and they are unable to quickly accommodate it at times. A solution will however be to ensure that forecast is being adequately made by specialized individuals in order to adequately implement control.
