OUTLINE The automobile industry had been around for centuries. As automobile industry is ever evolving and more people start owning vehicles it is only fair that the stereotypes fade alongside. Ever since the first Car/Bike made, the automobile industry has evolved to extraordinary levels producing extra ordinary vehicles. It is an industry that had been a part of the system for centuries now. Everybody owns a vehicle in today’s time, some use it only for their convenience or travelling from point A to Point B, on the other hand there is an entire category of consumers who own vehicles because have a passion towards it and have a connect. From a fuel powered vehicle to a battery powered Smart vehicle, the industry had evolved drastically. It is only fair if the mindset of the society evolves along with this and maybe at a same rate at this. This industry is here to stay unless everybody stops owning and using a private vehicle. That is very unlikely to happen keeping in mind the population of the world.

Goal Gender stereotypes and traditional gender roles and growing gender neutrality in automobile industry.

Objective Reduce the stigma towards female drivers by 15% in 6 months, as more and more female start to drive and own person vehicles

Importance Since the industry has been around and the message that has been communicated to the audience had not really changed. Even though the societal roles are diminishing and yet, only 33% of the automotive industry workers are women. The industry is majorly male dominated and aspects like this are more than likely to drive a gender gap.

Blog Post As we move forward with time, traditional gender roles are diminishing. This is happening in every industry in today’s time and the Automobile industry is no different. For generations, Cars/Bikes were viewed as a masculine product and have been portrayed the same to the masses. As the years passed, Women and Men both use Cars/Bikes independently more have developed a passion for the same, not only Men but Women as well. The social outlook on these vehicles is such only one gender can use them, and that is fading sooner than ever now. Even though these gender roles are fading, Men still overshadow Women for becoming an ambassador for automotive brands. Brands for years have preferred a Male face as their ambassadors. Society needs to accept more Female faces as brand ambassadors for such brands and break the stereotype. The industry as one needs to be more open to female aspirants and give them equal opportunity for the same. A Vehicle does not discriminate between gender, it doesn’t matter who drives the vehicle, A woman or a man, the machine responds in the same way for both. The industry needs to mold itself with the changing times and move forward with time. The narrow thought process of aligning a particular product with a particular gender is not the most ideal way to go about doing things. Unfortunately, such practices have been going on in every industry for generations now. It is mainly on the industry and their communications team to take an initiative about this and make progress with the change; it is on the public relations team to change the mindset one mind at a time.
