Geometric krater, from the Dipylon cemetery, Athens, Greece, ca. 740 BCE. 3' 4 1/2" high. Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. This is Geometric krater beautiful piece of art is made of clay pot. It is located in Athens Greece by Dipylon cemetery. This vase was made to mark a gravesite. This vase is so extraordinary because of its decoration. It is fully covered with different types of art especially with geometric motifs, for example there are diamonds, triangles, circles, and meanders. Inside the frieze I see there is animals and human figures. The main scene shows us that on top there is a dead person and around him there are many others who raised their hand over their heads to show grief especially females. The band underneath shows a parade and its military in nature. There are chariots, also I see horsemen, and warriors with shields and lances and swords. Overall, it represents wealth and power of Diplon’s because it is made with lots of little details and wealth. Iktinos, Parthenon (looking southeast), Acropolis, Athens, Greece, 447–438 BCE. This temple Parthenon is huge marble temple build for the goddess Athena. This is built on top of rocky outcropping in the city of Athens in Greece during 447-438 BCE. This temple is Doric temple and it is specific style of Greek. The columns are really big with shallow wide flutes and it is covered with sculpture of abacus, triglyph and metope. In the metopes it showed there is Greeks battling. On the all fourth sides it showed different types of sculptures being carved. This sculpture figure is of Lady of Auxerre, it is very small freestanding sculpture representing goddesses located in Greece. The figure looks like columnar. Her head is firmed, the face is flats oval shape, and her eyes are oval shaped. This sculpture is carved with marble or limestone. All over her dress there are square patterns all aver her body. She looks like very formal one her hand is on chest and other hand is very tightly on the side of her body, her feet are together. She is very ordinary figures from very beginning of Greek history sculptures....
