COLOR SCHEMES Color schemes In color theory, a color scheme is the choice of colors used in design for a range of media. For example, the use of a white background with black text is an example of a common default color scheme in web design. Color schemes are logical combinations of colors on the color wheel. The seven major color schemes : monochromatic, analogous, complementary, split complementary, triadic, square, and rectange (or tetradic).

Monochromatic color schemes - are derived from a single base hue and extended using its shades, tones and tints. Tints are achieved by adding white and shades and tones are achieved by adding a darker color, grey or black.

Analogous color schemes - are groups of three colors that are next to each other on the color wheel, and a tertiary.

Complementary color schemes - two colors that are directly opposite each other on the colour wheel is known as a complementary colour scheme.

Split Complementary color schemes- is one where a primary color is used with the two analogous colors to its complement.

Triadic color schemes - is any color palette made of three colors that are equally apart on the color wheel.

Square color schemes - is a four-color combination consisting of a base color and three colors that are 90 degrees apart from the base color. Square color schemes are rich in color and offer variations.

Rectangle color schemes - utilizes four colors positioned around the color wheel in the shape of a rectangle. This is a tricky color scheme to manage, as there are four colors involved....
