In this delightful worksheet activity, students complete a survey and then use the results to write comparative and superlative sentences.

Comparatives and superlatives

Give each student a copy of the worksheet. Tell the students to answer the six questions on the worksheet and write their answers in the second column of the table.

Aim To complete a survey and then use the results to write comparative and superlative sentences.

Preparation Make one copy of the worksheet for each student.

Level Elementary

When they have finished, divide the students into groups of six. Groups of four or five are also possible. Students write each other's names at the top of the table. The students then interview the other members of the group using the questions from Exercise A and complete the table with their answers. When the students have all the answers, they use the results to write three comparative and three superlative sentences about the students in their group. Finally, students compare their sentences and give feedback to the class on what they found out.
