RIGHTS TO FAIR AND HONEST DEALINGS. According to the [ CITATION LAB19 \l 1033 ] Right to fair and honest dealings protect consumers against inacceptable conduct from suppliers. Suppliers are not allowed to use force against consumers, undue influence, constraint, agitation, unfair campaigns. Consumers also have the right to be protected against false and misleading representations, in other words suppliers or manufactures cannot be dishonest about their products or sales promotions. Consumers have the right to be protected against counterfeit activities. Consumers are protected against pyramid schemes and are not allowed to promote or join such schemes. This right also allows for deviations, rearrangements and disclaimers and lastly this right enables protection against overestimate and double booking. In conclusion this right protects consumers against unfair dealings which prevent the loss of finances.

PURPOSE OF THE CPA

According [ CITATION Sou19 \l 1033 ]The purpose of Consumer protection act is to encourage and improvement societal and lucrative prosperity of consumers in South Africa by creating a legal frame work for the maintenance of consumer markets that are fair, available ,resourceful ,maintainable and accountable. This act encourages coherent business practices as well as encouraging accountable consumer conduct. This Act also covers the reduction of the difficulty’s experiences in the retrieving of goods and facilities by helpless consumers in isolated areas. Consumer Protection act gives consumers the opportunity to redress issues caused by consumer market. Who may lodge consumer complaints   

Anybody can lodge a complaint. An authorised person acting on behalf of another person . Person(s) acting as a member of group.

WHEN DOES CPA APPLY All transaction must happen in South Africa for the Consumer Protection Act to be applied. Supply of goods and service transpiring in South Africa applies to CPA. All goods and service that are made and imported to South Africa falls under CPA . WHEN DOES CPA NOT APPLY According to [ CITATION leg17 \l 1033 ]The CPA does not apply when a service is delivered under an employment contract and transaction that allows to a collective bargaining agreement. The CPA does also not apply when services are controlled by the long- and short-term insurance act of 1998. This act is not applicable outside of South Africa and it doesn’t apply to loans. The CPA is lastly not applicable when an arrangement between a provider and consumer is exempted by CPA.

Explanation of rights to Equality in Consumer Market AND Protection against discriminatory market dealings Promotion of equity in the consumer market is in place to prohibit any consumer from unfair discrimination. According to [ CITATION The16 \l 1033 ]Purchasers have the right to consume goods and services made obtainable to them and should be treated equivalently when buying goods and services but should not be judged on sex, race, socio lucrative status or physical location. Suppliers are not allowed to limit access to goods and service and they not allowed to categories or priorities any consumer group over others. The Equality act enables consumers to have access to goods and services on quality as well as fair pricing. When consumers file complaints with NCC the matter will later be sent to Equity Court only if they are authorized. In terms of protection ,suppliers must state their details on everything they manufacture as well as return policies so that consumers are fully aware. -...
