Description

Create a database dump file in MySQL Workbench 6 After you log in to VMware, create a folder on the desktop, with your own admin number as the folder name. This folder will be used to save your dump file. Next, login to MySQL Workbench 6. Click on the icon to Show preferences dialog.

The following window will be displayed. Choose the Administrator tab. Next, you should set the path to the location where your dump file will be saved to. Click on the box next to Export Directory Path.

A window will pop up for you to select the folder that your dump file will be saved to. Find and select the folder at the desktop with your admin number.

Click OK and close the Workbench Preferences window.

Select Data Export to start the wizard to export your database.

You are ready to Select Database Objects to Export. In the left panel, your Schema should be shown. If your tables are not displayed in the Schema Objects panel on the right, just click on your Schema in the left panel. Select only the tables that you have created for your assignment. Under the Options pane, select Export to Self-Contained File. The path name should point to your folder on the desktop. The dump file is an SQL file (.SQL). Check the option to Create Dump in a Single Transaction (self-contained file only). Click on the button Start Export. After the export has completed, go to your desktop file to retrieve your dump file. As this is on the virtual desktop, you should copy the dump file to your external USB deice or email it to your own email account....
