Blank Panther Statue Vandalized in Busan Someone doesn’t seem to be much of a Blank Panther fan up in Busan. A Black Panther statue was found broken off by its ankle in Gwangbok-ro of Jung District in commemoration by the Walt Disney Company of the film being shot in parts of Busan. Ahn Sang-yool of The Korea Herald goes into more detail about the statues being placed where they are. “In the film, at Jagalchi Market in Busan, Korea’s largest seafood market, a secret casino serves as the venue for a major confrontation between the heroes from Wakanda and the movie’s villains. A car chase then ensues with the Black Panther and antagonist Ulysses Klaue, shot across the Gwangandaegyo suspension bridge nearby”. The incident occured between the night of March 16th and dawn of the 17th. A KOFIC from the The Korea Herald states, “claws of the statue were found damaged a few days after it was set up, and now to see completely torn apart in a month is a shame”. Police believe it was an inebriated man who committed the act. No new updates have come up thus far.
