Development, Validity and Reliability Adventure Based Learning Module in Fundamental Statistics Mohd Afifi Bahurudin Setambah [email protected] Sultan Idris Education University, Tanjong Malim, Perak Nor'ain Mohd Tajudin [email protected] Sultan Idris Education University, Tanjong Malim, Perak Mazlini Adnan [email protected] 2 Sultan Idris Education University, Tanjong Malim, Perak Abstract The issue of declining achievement scores in Trends in Mathematics and Sciece Study for mathematics and science has opened the eyes of scientists from academia and Malaysian government. These things give the impression that the teaching and learning of mathematics and science needs to be improved. One of the strategies that have been suggested by the Blueprint (Pelan Pembangunan Pendidikan Malaysia [Pendidikan Tinggi]) is to use experience-based approach. Adventure learning is a hybrid approach that has basic characteristics of experiential learning and inquiry learning. It is seen as having the characteristics of improving the skills of the 21st century in terms of leadership and critical thinking skills. The study was based on three objectives, namely the development process modules, the validity and reliability of adventure-based teaching modules. This module is developed based on ADDIE model and integrated with Kemp model. It involves five main phases. The validity of the process module using Cohen Kappa index (CKI) and Content Validity Index (CVI) based on the views of seven experts. The analysis showed that face validity and content validity were excellent with the CKI 0.83 and CVI is 0.97. While the reliability of the module Adventure-Based Teaching is good with 0.67 points. This finding would confirm that the module has high reliability and validity. Change is focused on the needs and interests of students, and underlines the government's commitment to provide access to equity-based education and quality education of international standards. In the frst phase of the implementation of the action plan Blueprint initiative (PT), the main focus is to ensure the realization began immediately with momentum and provide basic transformation. The proposed strategy is to introduce experiential learning and service more widely among institutions. This strategy is in line with the National Higher Education Strategic Plan (PSPTN) where one of the seven main pillars to improve the quality of teaching and learning (PSPTN, 2007).
