Description

UNIV 1001 - AY2021-T5 1. What are the benefits of collaborative learning? Collaborative learning is a method based on the peer-to-peer notion that allows students to work in groups to explore topics, solve issues, and complete assignments. It offers a number of advantages, including: Peer-to-peer learning and listening Learning to listen to what others have to say is an important skill because it allows people to share their knowledge and ideas more easily and it helps people comprehend what others are thinking. Critical thinking encouragement Students are more actively involved in the learning process when they collaborate to solve issues and assignments, which helps them to develop critical thinking abilities. Individual students on the other hand; passively receive knowledge passed down from their teacher in the conventional context. Coordination and shared attention In order to collaborate effectively, students must focus on the same topic or issue, thinking and working together rather than in parallel. They are also accountable to one another.

How does the University of the People integrate community-oriented learning into the classroom? In your response, be sure to share any experience you have with collaborative learning. The University of the People incorporates community-based learning into the classroom in a variety of ways. Students in all groups can provide and receive comments on their work, discuss and rate their classmates' work, write tasks, assess others' work, and include some suggestions if they have difficulty in any issues. In terms of my own experience with collaborative learning, I encountered it while taking side hustle classes and attending conferences. Participants gathered to listen to talk’s session after session during those courses and conferences. Aside from that, we were given opportunities to cooperate while learning from a group work plan that included icebreakers to help us create rapport and group cohesion.
