The organization I chose for the final projects is Kindred Health Care. Kindred Health care is located in Louisville, KY. Kindred Healthcare's mission is Kindred Healthcare's mission is "to promote healing, provide hope, preserve dignity and produce value for each patient, resident, family member, customer, employee and shareholder we serve" This mission statement is valuable to the way the budget works within their health care system. The mission statement and the goals of the company also go hand in hand with the capital budget of the company. Capital budgets help the company account for any unexpected things that may happen during the fiscal year and also for planned fixed assets. When looking over the 2016 Annual report for Kindred Healthcare, there are many factors that contribute to the 2017 budget proposal. Kindred Healthcare has proposed a need to take into account that there will be healthcare reform. This is true because we are under a new president in our country. Health care reform impacts capital budget because they need to be prepared for reform and any changes that they need to make. If any adjustment needs to be made to labor and staffing budgets, this would be included in the capital budget as well. Some adjustments that will need to be made for the 2017 year would be technology advances, continuing education training for staff to encourage constant growth and some renovations that could improve the quality of care that the patients are receiving. The revenue total that the hospital division of this company pulled in was $2,383,063. When it comes to the capital budget, the amount spent on routine things was $23,858. When looking at the report from 2015, there was no outgoing payments for any developmental projects, which shows me that this may be something that needs to be in the works because it is 2017 and nothing developmental has been done since 2014.( Kindred healthcare, 10-K) Most of the revenue generated by the hospital came from patients who used medicare. I believe that making

these changes will over all help the company. Renovating some of the older parts of the building my help patients and to boost the moral of some of the buildings within the company. Also bringing in some new technology will help boost the quality of care for the patients. New and improved equipment can make everyones job run smooth.
