Description

EE 212 ELECTRONIC CIRCUITS 1 EXPERIMENT 2 HALF-WAVE AND FULL-WAVE (BRIDGE) RECTIFIERS

1.OBJECTIVES Our purpose analyze the half-wave and the full-wave(bridge) rectifier of the diode with resistor. For this we designed using the resistor and diode on the breaboard for half-wave rectifier and full wave rectifier. We observed this situation using the correct values. We learn half-wave and full-wave(bridge) difference between voltage ,how change sinusodial signal and resistor’s peak and delta value.

2.METHODOLOGY APPARATUS REQUIRED: - Breadboard - 1 No. - Function Generator - 1 No. - Resistor 1kΩ - 1 No. - 1N4001 Diode - 4 Nos. - CRO - 1 No. - Connecting wires

HALF-WAVE RECTIFIER

Firstly, we designed the circuit for half-wave rectifier on the breadboard. We use one Resistor (1kΩ) and one 1N4001 Diode. We connected series diode and resistor and we combine diodes cathode leg’s with resistor’s leg. We use and connected Function Generator for Function Generator’s output’s positive side with diode’s anode and Function Generator’s output’s negative’s side with resistor’s independent leg and we set peak voltage (Vp) as 3V and apply 50 Hz sinusodial signal by Function Generator after this we use CRO for measured half- wave rectifier and we choosed channel one then connected the resistor’s legs. Finally, we observed the half-waveform across the resistor. We measured resistor’s voltage = Vr(peak): 2.36 V

FULL-WAVE (BRIDGE) RECTIFIER

Firstly, we designed the circuit for full-wave rectifier on the breadboard. We use one Resistor 1kΩ and four 1N4001 Diode. We connected parallel diodes by twos but two diodes series and other diodes reverse series connected then we connected a resistor between them. We use and connected Function Generator for Function Generator’s output’s positive side with series diodes around leg’s and output’s negative side with other series diodes around leg’s then we set peak voltage (Vp) as 3V and apply 50 Hz sinusodial signal by Function Generator after this we use CRO for measured full- wave (bridge) rectifier and we choosed channel one and two then we connected channel one with resistor’s leg and channel two with resistor’s other leg. Finally, we observed the full-waveform across the resistor. We measured Delta : 1.76V

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION :

We observed the half- waveform andthe full-waveform across the resistor by CRO. We know if we measure correct value, we set 50Hz because we see wave and we measured between delta value or peak voltage for resistoron the sinusodial signal. We learned if we use series connecting delta and resistor (1kΩ) and we want it’s peak voltage for half wave form, CRO only measured sinusodial signal’s positive side and it had us voltage value’s a little bit value. If we want learn full waveform, we see sinusodial signal’s positive and negative sides and it’s delta us voltage value’s a little over half....
