1. Do you agree or disagree with the claim that the psychological contract is becoming
more transactional? Give reasons for your answer, making reference to theory to support your arguments.

According to Hayes (2007), transformational change ‘involves a paradigm shift and completely new behaviours … this calls for principles, assumptions and values that underpin the implicit and explicit rules that guide behaviour to be revised’. How can a change agent lead transformational change successfully?
3. Discuss the key features of Organisational Development (OD). How can OD contribute to the successful implementation of change projects within organisations?
4. ‘Employee participation … is perhaps the most powerful lever management can use to gain acceptance of change’ (Judson, 1991). What are the potential barriers to employee participation? How can change agents facilitate employee participation in the change process? 5.
