1 Adintori Alyssa Adintori CIT-201-E Dr. Plummer November 11, 2020 Final Colloquium Paper The colloquium, Title IX, Diversity & Inclusion presented by Julie Lawrence focused on how committed Sacred Heart University is in making sure that all students have a safe environment to live, learn, and work in. This colloquium provided the education and awareness needed about discrimination and sexual harassment. Throughout this colloquium, I was able to see how this topic can help individuals form a more just society for the common good. Both discrimination and sexual harassment are serious problems that the society sadly has to face in today’s world. By Julie Lawrence addressing the problems of discrimination and sexual harassment, addressing how discrimination and sexual harassment affect a person, and how to prevent those events from happening help educate and bring awareness to people about how serious those issues really are. Sacred Heart University definitely makes sure that all students and staff know that discrimination and sexual harassment is not tolerated in any circumstance. Before this colloquium, I thought I knew everything about how horrible discrimination and sexual harassment are. After listening to Julie Lawrence talk about the education and awareness on the new Title IX regulations, it really reminded me how serious those situations are. I believe that every time someone hears about these issues, it reminds them about the situations. If people are constantly reminded about discrimination and sexual harassment and
