Description

name 1 ACDV 101 May 12, 2020 Higher Education is an Investment for all Students Graduating from High School A higher education/college is the best investment a student graduating from high school would ever make to better his or her career. A higher degree (such as the associate or doctoral degree) opens lots of opportunities for a student in the future. These opportunities include; better career opportunities, personal development, job opportunities. Besides all the great opportunities colleges offer, it most importantly develops the minds of the students, by improving their critical thinking through bloom’s taxonomy used by teachers and instructors. Although many consider college as a huge financial commitment, the outcome is worth the investment. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, the typical bachelor degree holder earns $18,500 more per year than those with just a High School diploma. College experience helps gain knowledge for future work. For example, if you are a pharmacist, you need to know whether adding chemicals to new medicines will affect the human body. If you didn’t know the subject, biology or chemistry, it’s hard for you to become a pharmacist. Likewise, other professions like; engineering, nursing, computer science, etc. Lectures from professors are precious and irreplaceable. College prepares students subsequently by providing challenges that increase their critical thinking. Critical thinking involves taking outside knowledge into account or consideration while evaluating information. Which can allow students to understand the links between ideas, identify

In addition, teachers and instructors are able to achieve the goal of improving students critical thinking through bloom’s taxonomy. Bloom’s taxonomy can be defined as the classification of different objectives and skills that educators and teachers set for their students, as a form of learning objective. It’s divided into six steps, ranging from the easiest to the hardest, which are; remember, understand, apply, analyze, evaluate, and create. These are deliberately designed into structures in order to be more helpful to instructors or educators teaching their students on how to acquire a particular skill. In summary, a college education is so much more than just a ticket to a better career. It is an enriching experience that allows students the chance to grow, learn, explore and challenge themselves like nothing else....
