Summary

This is an implementation of Fixed Length Subnet Masking using IPv4.
In this tutorial, there is an implementation of eight subnets.
This tutorial exactly follows the concept of Fixed Length Subnet Masking....

Batch: B1 Roll No.: 1813007 Experiment / assignment / tutorial No.__1____ Grade: AA / AB / BB / BC / CC / CD /DD Signature of the Staff In-charge with date Title: Simulate a network to implement Ipv4 addressing for network connecting devices. This experiment aims as implementing 8 subnets for given [192.168.1.0] IP address using FLSM [Fixed Length Subnet Masking]. The following steps were followed for the implementation: Step 1: Realising the network - The designed topology contains four routers each with four PCs. All the devices on network are configured accordingly. The subnet mask will be 255.255.255.224 since first three bits for the fourth octet remains constant. These three bits give eight combinations resulting in eight subnets.

Step 2: Configuring the routers - In this experiment, dynamic routing is implement using RIP protocol. The network address is the same for all the routers for configuring dynamic routing.

Step 3: Connecting the routers using Serial DTE - The Serial DTE is interfaced using one of the subnet network addresses. That is, subnet network addresses 192.168.1.128, 192.168.1.160, 192.168.1.192 and 192.168.1.224 used for Serial DTE interfaces.

Step 4: The routing table can viewed using the ‘show ip route’ command.

Conclusion: This experiment helped in understanding implementation of subnets using FLSM[Fixed Length Subnet Masking]. Also, all the four routers are dynamically configured using RIP protocol. We realised for subnets the network address in dynamic configuration remains the same....
