Introduction

All my life I have been dreaming of travelling the whole world, to be known by people, to show them that I can and to know more about new things. I do not believe that the sky's the limit.

But I once dreamed of being a singer when I was younger, I used to join competitions, since I am curious about things that surround me and I really love to wander around the world with the people I love.

Macaraeg 3 One day, I just realized that Tourism might be something that is really meant for me.

Back when I was in Junior High, I had a chance to be an actress because someone told me that I had a potential, but I did not like how the way it goes and it did not end well. What I really wanted was to be a singer, but it gave me a glimpse that it was not for me either even if I like it very much. God must have been telling me something, that there are greater plans for me.

I am still grateful for whatever happened to me that even if singing is my biggest dream, I learned that God introduced me to other greater opportunities in life.

I realized that starting a career in showbiz can take your privacy away and my privacy really matters to me.

I can see that God is really working in my life, He gave me freedom to choose whatever I want but He never left, He is always there to guide me in making decisions, and in choosing Tourism was the best thing that happened to me. It gave me the passion, courage, patience and strength. Because no matter how tired I am I will never give up on my dreams and I know that one day with the help of God I’ll be able to pursue my dreams in life and to live happily not regretting everything I tried in my life.

Guide to Tourism

Macaraeg 5 Compared to BS Tourism Management which is focused on the corporate and administrative side. BS in Tourism concentrates more on travel, language, subjects such as history and other cultural aspects in this field.

Tourism is not regarded as a profession, in this field it does not require specific knowledge because it can only be obtained through studying this course.

The Objectives of Tourism The main objectives of Tourism is that it is about the economic, environmental, socio-cultural and political. Working Hours According to Kangan Institute, working in the tourism industry can be unpredictable in terms of hours. Depending on which job position you take, it will play a big role in determining the type of hours you’ll have. Some tourism jobs run regular 9 to 5 hours while others are a bit more unconventional.

Tour guides, usually work regular 9-5 hours to keep up with visitors who are most active during the day, while before it gets too dark was the last one. Some tours, however, run specifically at night so not all tour guides will get to close up shop at around 5pm.

Conclusion

When I was making the questions for the interview, I was having fun knowing that my questions will finally be answered and that I’ll be able to gain more knowledge about the career that I want.

I am inspired to know that my respondents will be my aunties that are sisters, since they are both working as flight attendants. I want to follow their path. It is nice to know that our family has a background about this kind of career.

Macaraeg 11 Many things came in to my life before choosing the Tourism. Once a talent scout told me that I had a potential in acting and singing, he told me that “why don’t you audtion?” I tried to audition and got into some “teleserye” to become an extra.

It did not turn out well for me. I had to leave an absence on my School, which is not a good thing. I knew that it was not for me, I do not want to be an actress as well. I know in my heart that I want something more than just being an actress.

That is why I am having fun and motivated knowing all the things about Tourism, the experiences on working as a flight attendant and on that kind of field. In this research I was able to have a better understanding that even if you don’t finish a Tourism course in college as long as you have a good customer service experience you can still pursue the job on being a flight attendant.
