INTRODUCTION In the recent years there is lot of discussion in world about the recession; even at personal level we are seeing the effect of recession around us. But Indian economy is said to be stable with static growth in GDP. Earlier it was not said for India, if India had a growth of same pace in previous decades, India could be standing in row with developed economies. The study in this project report is made for understanding the history, reforms, after effects of reforms in the Indian Economy after independence. It was interesting to note that the reforms were started in 1980's but due to instability in Indian politics scenario they were not able to deliver the results properly. Macro level study on FDI & FII is carried out in this project. These are major sources for growth in Indian Economy. Availability of other sources and procedures of investment in India by foreigners. Investment by Indian companies in other economies. Macro economic level data provided by various government and private agencies which show the development in these fields in terms of money value and growth in Investment in different sectors. Foreign Investment is major factor in globalisation process as it intensifies the interaction between countries and regions. It increases the employment and growth rate of the country. Increasing FII, FDI and portfolio investment, international trade and technology transfer are part of this process. This project report tries to put up a light on all aspects on Macro Level with data made available by government.
