Through this course students should be able to

Unit II Typology of garments & Clothing categories : Types of skirts, Types of tops, Types of jackets, Types of trousers ,Clothing categories: Casual Wear, Formal Wear, Office wear, Sports wear. Unit III The language of fashion : Silhouettes, ensembles, couture, fashion look, taste, garment, Accessory, clothing, dress, costume, high fashion, mass fashion, avant-garde, haute-couture, couturier, prêt-à-porter/ready to wear, textiles, Fabrics, runway. Unit IV Important Design elements that form and effect a look : color, silhouette, fabric, embroidery, embellishments, prints. What are trends, Role of Wgsn, Trend reading, how trends influence the taste of designers and stylist Unit V Different clothing as per occasion : Dressing up for the occasion & different times of the days, impact and importance of colors while dressing up, Power dressing, Different body types, Study of famous fashion stylists.
