From the word Globalization, it can be inferred that we are referring to integration of different countries worldwide, either economically, socially or technologically. It is probable that the first thing that comes in our mind when we hear the word Globalization is the free-trade among different countries where there is no barriers to international trade. However, globalization is not confined to economic aspects only because it can also be defined as the spread of products, investment, technology, information and job across national boarders and cultures. And pertaining to this meaning, we can identify the circumstances in the story of Gio and Latif that shows globalization and its impacts. First, Gio as an international student shows how globalization help integrate different countries with different culture through education, through this platform of exchanging students to efficiently exchange values and ideas, different nations became more united and misconceptions among different races has been lessen. Second, after Gio met his Malaysian friend named Latif, he talks about how he knew the Philippines through watching Filipino teleserye, this circumstance depicts the globalization through technology which undoubtedly help countries worldwide become more informed about each other. Third, is when Latif introduce Gio to Malaysian culture by trying cuisines from their country especially the Laksa, this represents globalization of culture which really benefits us because of exchange of artistic expression among culture. Fourth, is the presence of Australian-inspired café in the Philippines and Malaysia which is the reason why both Gio and Latif is familiar with it, it shows globalization through commerce which is very common nowadays, and this helps countries expand their transaction and introduce their culture through this as well. Fifth, is the interaction of Gio and Latif through social media platforms specifically, instagram, facebook and email which is really popular today, this is a way of globalization socially with the help of technology and its effects can really be observed nowadays, it became really useful for communication and information dissemination. Sixth, when Gio came to Singapore to work after he graduates is another circumstance of globalization because it shows the spread of job across national boarders and this benefits us because there will be plenty of available jobs worldwide but it can also have negative impact because intellects and workers from poorer countries tends to leave their own country to work to another that offers larger salaries. And lastly, is when Gio notices that Singapore and Malaysia has their similarities and that Laksa is also available there, and as we all know, in our world today different products, business and technologies from different countries became available worldwide because of globalization and this has a great impact on trade and industry of different countries. Globalization has a really great impact especially to those developing countries because it helps them improve and catch up with the industrialized nations. Globalization helps economy grow, have efficient trading and brings technology and jobs to developing country. But this can also have negative impact because the downturn of one country can greatly affect another, however as long as we are responsible, globalization will have good impact just like how Gio and Latif became friends despite of their differences in nationality and culture....
