Oh The Places You’ll Go 1. According to the story, what skills do we need to first choose a path? Do you think you have those skills? According to the story, in order to choose a career path, you need to have brains in your head, and feet in your shoes. I believe I have those skills because I obviously have a brain, everyone does, and I also do have two feet to direct wherever I choose to go. 2. What are the highlights of choosing a “good” path? What would you consider to be a “good” path? The highlights of choosing a “good” path are that you are happy, you have a stable source of income, and you make a good amount of money. In my opinion I would consider a variety of things to be a “good” path, as long as it’s a career you enjoy. Some examples would be a lawyer, business person, fashion designer, model, or an architect. 3. What happens when we discover the path we've taken is not the right one? What should we do? What would you do? When we discover the path we’ve taken is not the right one, we should escape the path that isn’t suited for you and find something better that suits your dreams. If I found myself in this scenario, I would do the same because I don’t see much use in continuing down a path that I don’t plan to pursue. 4. What skills does one need to overcome the Lurch, the Slump and the Waiting Place? Do you think you possess those skills? Elaborate. In order to overcome the Lurch, the Slump, and the Waiting Place, one must be determined and hardworking to escape from those places or as Dr. Suess says, “Somehow you'll escape all that waiting and staying. You'll find the bright places where Boom Bands are playing.” I believe I do possess these skills because throughout life we are faced with situations where you will be in the Lurch, the Slump, or Waiting place and after time and effort, you are able to overcome these stages and reach your goal. 5. The story points out that you need to expect problems to occur in your life journey. Reflect on when you have encountered problems. What skills did you use to overcome problems in the past? Consider how useful would those same skills be with other problems - or, do you need to find new ways to overcome future

obstacles? In the past when I have encountered problems I used the skills of perseverance, hard work, remaining hopeful, and strong effort. However there were also moments when I would just give up. With other problems, using these skills would be extremely helpful in order to resolve the problem. Although I do believe it would be key to drop the habit of giving up after a few attempts and continue to try again and again. 6. Life is a Great Balancing Act – what are the things that you have to balance right now in your life? What skills and attributes do you possess and what skills and attributes do you feel you could acquire to help you maintain a good sense of balance in your life journey? At the moment the things in my life I am balancing are summer school, modelling classes, working, helping out at home with chores, and having a social life. The skills and attributes I currently have that helps to balance out my life are good time-management, hardworking, and also having positive outlook on everything I do. Some additional skills I believe would be beneficial to acquire to help maintain a good sense of balance are being more relaxed and focused on my goals....
