Golfmetrics Data Analysis Report Golfmetrics Data Summary Drive I was pleasantly surprised with how my game off the tee compared to a Scratch golfer. After 6 rounds, I gained an average of 3.4 strokes driving. Looking further into the data I averaged 304 yards off the tee including shots where I played an iron or fairway wood from the tee. My fairways hit was 57% which is a respectable number for me but can be improved a bit as I have started to rely on only one shot shape which should help take one side of the course out of play. Approach shots With approach shots I am gaining .5 strokes over the average scratch golfer. I believe this metric is skewed slightly as I had one shot over 250 yards where I went for the green and left myself with 20’ for eagle. Without this shot, and a few more rounds in the system, we would probably see that I loose roughly .5 stokes per round on approach shots. 80% of the strokes lost come within the 100–150-yard range. This is an area I plan to focus on to help bring my scoring down. Short Game As we get closer to the hole my margin for error increases and we begin to see why I don’t shoot under par consistently with 3.4 Strokes Gained off the tee. From 0-20 yards off the green, I am losing .5 strokes per round, and from 60-100 yards I am losing another .5 strokes. I believe this a mix of poor course management when playing a shot into a green, and not sticking with a short game method to aid in consistency. I know I can improve upon my mental game in regard to identifying where a good miss is when approaching a green and where to leave the chip shot to make the putt as easy as possible to save par. As for my comment on lacking consistency with my short game style, I am a tinkerer in all facets of the game. This includes the way I choose to play chip shots around the green. One week I am trying to bump and run everything, the next I’m looking for one-hop-stop spinners with all my chip shots. I need to stay disciplined in my short game style and continue to work on the same thing week in and week out. Putting This is where I will be spending a majority of my time practicing. I start out strong with .4 strokes gained per round inside of 6’ and then the wheels fall off from 7’+. Form 7’-21’ I am losing .9 strokes per round and from 22’+ I am losing another .8 strokes per round compared to the average scratch golfer. This tells me I struggle with distance control. Along with this I admit I struggle getting the ball started on my intended line when playing a lot of break. Using a intermediate target should aid in this.

Rationale for Training Program My intended goal is to improve my strokes gained putting from where is now at losing 1.3 strokes per round by improving the 7’-21’ metric by a full stroke bring it up to .1 strokes gained and cutting my strokes gained on putts over 21’ from -.8 to -.4 strokes gained. In doing so I will effectively be lowering my scoring average by a full 1.5 shots per round, everything else being equal. As for my strokes gained with short game (losing 1 stroke per round), I will look to incorporate practice sessions and games that improve my proximity to the pin inside 20 yards and make sure I keep my short game method consistent from week to week. As for my strokes gained from 60-100 yards (losing .5 strokes per round), I plan on improving this metric by using variable practice on course with scattering balls within the 60-100 yard range and seeing how many shots I can land and keep inside 20’ from the hole. Another way I plan to improve my proximity to the hole from this distance is by continuing to improve my low point control and making sure I check my setup before starting the session to maintain consistency each week. With this training program in place, I feel comfortable that I will be able to drop a full stroke off of my average over the course of the next four weeks. If continued further, I feel comfortable saying I will be able to drop a full two strokes within 12 weeks of the training program....
