According to the alpha history, “history is the study of the past specifically the people, societies, events and problems of the past as well as our attempts to understand them”. I do agree with statement which states "Those who don't know history won't be able to improve the present." A person will never truly understand the root of a situation or problem until they know when, where, and how it started. There are events accruing in our society today that causes confusion especially for the younger ones who are experiencing the situation without knowing where it all started. A recent event is the march on Washington against racial injustice, where people gathered to protest about the injustice their families and other African Americans are facing in America today. Back in history the Lincoln Memorial is where Martin Luther King Jr delivered his speech “I Have A Dream”. He too was fighting for the equal rights of the African Americans back then. Today the people took the same stand as he did at the same exact spot hoping that their voices can be heard. In the days of Martin Luther King Jr African American where not treated equally and they were facing injustice, he took it up on himself to speak up for his people so that they can be treated the same as the others. Today African Americans are doing the same by standing together so their voices can be heard, and justice can be given to them and their families. Back in history African American where treated like they were outcast, not humans, and people who does not have rights. The same is going on today and so the fight for justice is up again. My strategy towards presentism is to focus on the objective and to keep apart the influence of the present from the past.
