Monson Anderson Mrs. Wyckhuse Holocaust Quotes 17 April 2019

Prisoner B-3087 “Life is a river. It has no beginning, no middle, no end. All we are, all we are worth, is what we do while we float upon it”. All we are worth … so if we’re lazy and we just let things happen around us and we don’t really care then we will won’t be remembered for anything and when people talk about us they’ll probably say things like “oh they did do anything” or “yea the world’s better off without them” but if we work hard, help others and are kind then we’ll be remembered and known for the good things we did.

“It was astounding that there could still be beauty in the world. Especially here, a mile underground.” Even in times as dark and as evil as the Holocaust people still have things, such as the underground temple, to give them hope and hope helps them carry through the tough times knowing that one day things will get better because evil can’t last forever. Remember you can alway improve your situation no matter how good or bad there will be away.

“How can you care about such things in a place like this? … it is even more important here and now”

In the darkest most helpless time of our lives when we want to give up altogether it is important that we remember the things that mean the most to us and cling to them always whether its religion, family or just something special remember it always so you can make it through the toughest of times.

“When I had ever been so fortunate as to have something so simple as a toothbrush.” One of my least favorite things is when I see someone who’s ungrateful for the things they’re given now a toothbrush is a little extreme but there’s still people that don’t have things as simple as that. So go through life as a grateful happy person not an ungrateful jerk.

“I stepped on board the train and didn’t look back. For nine years I had done everything I could to survive. Now it was time to live.” When ever you go through a tough time after it’s over you need to move on. If you get stuck on something that’s in the past you’ll never go anywhere and others won’t want to be with you because you’ll always be thinking about negative experiences. Its ok to be upset about something bad that happened but you need to know when it’s time to move on and leave the past in the past....
