HTWAR Reading Chapters Introduction

Summarize each chapter in your own words. (35 sentences) The introduction is about the author’s experiences. She gives the readers some advice and summary what the whole book is about. She also gives some reasons why to “Work a room”.

Ch.1: Passport to Opportunities

She talks about the importance of communications. The difference of time and how digital makes conversing different.

Ch.2: The Roadblocks

She fully explains 5 reasons why we are scared to “work a room”. It might be traditional, natural personality or their mental thoughts. She also encourages the readers to get pass the “road blocks”, and take the risk to communicate. She talks about the roadblock and how to get pass them. She gives out the way to get pass the roadblocks, and guide on how to have a good self introductions. “Likeability” is important. You gains a lot of benefits from Likeability, and being disliked at business environment is never profitable. Likability can be taught to anyone, and someone can always relate to you, and there are rules to it. How to make your presence noticable the environment you are in. There are many distractions that make you don’t realize about your presence. Reasons of why being “presence” is important.
