As if we haven’t stressed it enough, we have to say it again: you are the presentation. Simplify the contents. Keep the most important points on the top of your design so that everyone can see them. Search the web for examples of great presentations. A musician didn’t start learning to play his or her instrument by composing, but from interpreting the great masters. But don’t just imitate: try to take the best and adapt your design specifically to your audience. Think of the subject and how it will become clearer through design. What you use in your slides should be exactly what you need; elements that will help you illustrate your comments or to make a direct point. Anything else can be distracting or irrelevant. The advice here is: illustrate, don’t decorate. It is recommended to keep your presentation down to only 10 to 12 slides, unless you’re showing a photo album or a collection of material that will illustrate what you’re saying while you’re saying it. The way your elements enter the screen and the way each slide comes and goes is very important. They should help you, not distract attention away from you. And the same goes for sounds....
