Description

iHuman Kaplan Simulation Reflection Aaron Preston: Within this simulation, I did well at the physical assessment and the EHR. I could improve within the action section of the simulation. I would make sure to take more time on the action section and look more into what is the best actions for the patient. I think that this simulation, as it was the first one, was difficult to grasp but I was able to really look through the history and assessments to find out what was abnormal with the patient. Jose Garcia: Within this simulation, I did well at the EHR, physical assessment, and the prioritizing of actions. I could improve in the selecting of actions for the patient. I would make sure that I took more time to look at the physical assessment and EHR from the patient to help me better improve the actions that I chose. This simulation allowed me to take more time to understand how to go about assessing a patient and prioritizing. Justin Williams: Within this simulation, I did well at the physical assessment, EHR, and the prioritizing of the client’s problems and actions. I could improve in the area of identifying client problems and selecting actions. I would spend more time reviewing the patient’s physical and history to make a better decision in what actions to take. I learned how to feel more comfortable performing an SBAR and physical assessment. Olivia Bailey: Within this simulation, I did well at all the areas as I continued to become comfortable. I did not do well, again, in the actions section of the simulation. I would spend more on the actions portion and really try to critically think about what are the symptoms and what actions corresponding. The simulation has allowed me to better critically think through the situations that were presented to us. Stella Adams: Within this simulation, I did well at the physical assessment, analyzing problems, and prioritizing the actions. I did not do well in selecting actions and prioritizing routine actions.

If I were to do this again, I would like to spend more time critically thinking through ‘why’ the actions I chose were different from the correct answer. I have learned to critically think and prioritize for the patient....
