Generic Drug Name: Ibutilide

Method of Action (MOA): Activates slow inward current of sodium in cardiac tissue, resulting in delayed repolarization, prolonged action potential duration, and increased refractoriness. Mildly slows sinus rate and AV conduction.
Indications/Uses and expected Therapeutic outcome - indicated for atrial dysrhythmias. AF and atrial flutter (AFL). Only drugs available for rapid conversion of these two conditions (AF & AFL) to normal sinus rhythm. - Therapeutic effect: Conversion to normal sinus rhythm. Contraindications and Precautions-
