Q1a. If your pre-write (which we did in class) for the "Immigrant Paradox and the American Dream" was the opposite of the evidence presented in the Powerpoint Presentation, you may write a response to how you reacted to the information: Will you change your mind on this Immigration topic? Why, or why not? I was surprised by the result of the survey, but then I realize it makes sense. I did not consider the fact that we were talking about 3rd generation immigrants, if they can be called immigrants because I learned a migrant is somebody who moves from the place they were born to another one. Therefore the 3rd generation will be actually Americans and we were talking of a complete situation where we would have to keep in mind the achieve of the American dream for Americans and not only Immigrants. Would I change my mind? Towards the 3rd generation yes. I believe on the results of the survey based of my experience with American young people. Q2. How will you change your thinking about Immigrants and the American Dream, based on the facts and solutions presented in the PowerPoint presentation? Towards immigrants of the 1st generation I won’t change my mind because, and I have my uncle as an example, I believe that if we work hard, we make things the best way possible and we don’t give up, we can achieve the American dream. Maybe not in America, but we might be able to do it in the countries where we come from. There are exceptions....
