ISTRUZIONI PER L'ACCESSO AL CORSO B1 auto-apprendimento: Access Instructions for the Level B1 Self-study course Il corso è da svolgere in auto-apprendimento in preparazione alla prova d’idoneità di Lingua inglese, livello B1. This is a self-study course composed of online lessons and units to study in the course textbook in preparation for the B1 Level English exam. (Be sure to read page 2.)

1. Inserire nel browser l'indirizzo: http://moodle.cla.unisi.it/ Type this address into your browser: http://moodle.cla.unisi.it/

Fare il login. Dove viene chiesto di inserire username e password utilizzare il unisiPass*, la password unica assegnata a tutti gli studenti e personale dell'Università degli Studi di Siena. Use your UnisiPass* to login to the site (your university username and password).

Una volta eseguito l'accesso al home page del sito CLA Siena Online, cliccare su Weblingua - Livelli > B1 e poi sul B1 Self-study course Once you have accessed the home page of the site CLA Siena Online, scroll down the page and click on the course name: Weblingua - Livelli > B1 > B1 Self-study course

La prima volta che viene eseguito l'accesso si richiede di inserire "la chiave di iscrizione". La chiave di iscrizione è: B1-self.study The enrolment key is: B1-self.study

5. Dopo l’accesso al corso, può svolgere le 10 lezioni e il facsimile dell’esame in preparazione alla prova d’idoneità B1. (vedi pagina 2) When you have access to the course, read the documents in the top block carefully as they explain the best way to study the 10 lessons and practise tests so that you will be well-prepared to pass the Idoneità B1. Livello B1 Self-study - Alcuni consigli pratici per seguire il corso B1 con successo. •

Course Introduction: Leggi tutti i documenti nel primo blocco della colonna centrale del corso per avere tutte le informazioni relative alla struttura del corso e per conoscere le risorse disponibili online (vocabolario, grammatica ecc.).

Orientation: Completa le attività nel blocco 'Orientation on-line' per imparare a navigare le lezioni online. Lesson Map: Per seguire il calendario del corso in modo proficuo si consiglia di stampare il file 'B1 Lesson Map' e seguire le indicazioni, sia per le attività online che per lo studio dai libri di testo, 'PET Practice Tests Plus 2 - Students' Book with Key and Audio CDs, Pearson/Longman e English Grammar Framework B1, Black Cat – Cideb (è molto importante comprare i libri – disponibili dalle varie librerie a Siena) per ogni lezione.

Lesson activities: E' consigliabile stampare e seguire le istruzioni all'inizio di ogni lezione, le quali spiegano il contenuto della lezione. Dovresti provare a studiare una lezione per settimana, dedicando 5 o 6 ore alla settimana allo studio.

Writing: Durante il corso ci sono varie attività da svolgere nei forum. Queste ti danno l'opportunità di usare il linguaggio che hai studiato e di interagire con gli altri membri del corso. C’è anche una sezione specifica su come scrivere lettere ed email sotto il midterm test, dopo la 6° lezione.

Sample exams: A metà corso, sotto la 6° lezione, e alla fine del corso, sotto la 10° lezione, c’è un a prova del Reading e Listening da svolgere online per vedere il proprio progresso.

Level B1 Self-study: Practical advice on how to study successfully online •

Course Introduction: First, read all the documents in the top block of the course, which will help you to understand the structure and organization of the course. You’ll also find many useful online resources, such as the online dictionary. Keep this open in a separate window when you are studying online.

Orientation: complete the tutorial activities in the Orientation Online to learn the best way to navigate the online lessons. Lesson Map: In order to study in a constructive way, we suggest printing the document “B1 Lesson Map” and completing the activities indicated for each online lesson, as well as studying the corresponding pages in the textbooks: 'PET Practice Tests Plus 2 - Students' Book with Key and Audio CDs, Pearson/Longman and English Grammar Framework B1, Black Cat – Cideb (available in Siena bookshops – be sure to buy these books and study all the pages that are indicated on the Lesson Map.)

Lesson activities: It is useful to print the first page of instructions found at the top of each online lesson, which explains the activities that you need to complete. You should complete one online lesson each week, and study the materials online and in the textbook for approximately 5 to 6 hours weekly.

Writing: During the course there are various writing activities in discussion forums, which give you the opportunity of using the language forms you are studying to communicate with the other members of the course. There is also a specific section on how to write emails and letters below the midterm test, after lesson 6.

Sample exam: Halfway through the course, below Lesson 6, and at the end of the course, below Lesson 10, there is an online reading and listening test to do in order to check your progress and practise for the exam.
