Lab Tasks Assignment Overview 

During ITECH1102 lab sessions, students are required to complete specified tasks and demonstrate them to their lab tutor.



Lab tutors will allocate assessment marks for successful demonstrations.



For online students: Because the online students do not have a lab tutor to demonstrate lab tasks, therefore, they are required to write and submit two lab task reports to Moodle in weeks 5 and 11, respectively.

Timelines and Expectations Lab tasks of weeks 2–4 

They worth for 6 marks.



These marks will be collated and processed during week 5.



Assessment of these three labs constitutes the early intervention assessment.



Student who do not pass this assessment will be required to discuss their lack of progress in the course with their program or course coordinator.

Lab tasks of weeks 5–11 

They worth for 9 marks.



These marks will be collated and processed during week 12.

Assessment Details  

Students are required to complete computing, networking, and security tasks during laboratory sessions. The tasks are designed to help students understanding the material covered in lecture slides through interaction with various networking and computing software tools. When completed, students get marks allocated for those tasks. The tasks are designed to help students understanding the material covered in lectures through interaction with computing systems.

Submission 

No submission is required for on-campus students. Students gain marks for this assessment by demonstrating the tasks that are specified in the current week lab sheet to their lab tutor. If a student is unable to complete a lab task in the specified lab session, then she/he may demonstrate the same task in the following week’s lab session without an assessment penalty.



For online students: Students studying online are required to create two reports that will demonstrate the completion of lab tasks. Your lab reports must include screenshots and a short description of completed tasks. The write up for each week’s lab tasks should not be greater than 2 A4 size pages. For online students, the submissions are required as follows. 

A single pdf or word report for labs 2-4 by the end of week 5.



A single pdf or word report for labs 5-11 by the end of week 11.

Marking 

Marks will be added to FDLMarks in week 5 for labs 2–4 and in week 12 for labs 5-11. Students can check their progress by asking their lab tutor during lab sessions.

Feedback 

Feedback will be provided through Moodle or by email from your assessor. Authoritative marks will be published through FDLMarks.
