Dirty World Entertainment Recordings In this case, Sarah Jones brought this case to a federal district court in claims of defamation, an an intent of emotional distress.The district court declined to accept this argument and rejected the defendants-appellants’ motion to dismiss as well as three other motions including, the motion for summary judgement, motion to revise judgement and motion for judgement as a matter of law. The greatest issue in this case was whether or not the defamation claims of the plaintiff-appellee Sarah Jones could be upheld by the Communications Decency Act of 1996. The decision stands in the following terms, “Accordingly, we vacate the judgment in favor of Jones and reverse the district court's denial of Dirty World's and Richie's motion for judgment as a matter of law with instructions to enter judgment as a matter of law in their favor.”...
