Key Words: Justice, Crime, Introductory, Discipline, Theory This article talks about criminal justice, how classes around the topic are structured, what the students from different fields gain from this class and what they understand of it. The Authors each had different points and perspectives. David Bailey argues that learning should be based on intellectual discovery rather than memorizing, that figuring it out has a greater result and effect than simply memorizing without understanding. He also suggests that the survey approach hinders the creativity process. Flanagan talks about the how dense a criminal justice introductory course actually is and should be broken down into parts to better analyze and more efficiently understand the different systems and how society is affected by it.
