1300/1400/1310/1410 Lab 1 Report
STUDENT NAME: example: John P. Smith
STUDENT ID #: example: 999888222
LAB REPORT TITLE: example: An Investigation of the Earth’s Magnetic Field
DATE: example: September 25, 2022
NAME OF LAB GA/TA: example: Ralph Emerson
INTRODUCTION (Should NOT be longer than a paragraph. A few sentences will probably be acceptable. Try to describe the point of the labs and very briefly what you will be reporting.) Example: In this lab, we investigated the strength of the earth’s magnetic field in Windsor. The iOLab magnetometer sensor was used to determine the strength and the direction of the magnetic field in the Physics building on campus. Using the iOLab software, magnetic field measurements were averaged over 10 seconds to record the data and multiple measurements were acquired. Finally, the multiple measurements were averaged in Microsoft Excel to calculate a final average value.
EXERCISE 4 Here you will report your GA/TA’s name and email address. (The name should be the same as the one used above).
EXERCISE 5: Screenshot of Excel Table Make sure the numbers of your ID are legible. If they are too small to read you will not get points. This picture was done with Alt+PrtScn after the data was magnified in Excel. You may crop this image if you wish, but we must be able to tell you are using Excel. You don’t need to do anything else, just the image. Replace this picture with your data.
1300/1400/1310/1410 Lab 1 Report
EXERCISE 5: Excel Table You don’t need to do anything else, just the table. Replace this table with your table.
EXERCISE 6: iOLab Repository Home Page You don’t need to do anything else, just paste a screen capture of your homepage. Replace this picture with your picture.
Here, you MUST type in the email address (your UWin email address) that you used to create the iOLab repository account. [email protected]
CONCLUSION (Should NOT be longer than a paragraph. A few sentences will probably be acceptable. Try to describe what was done and what was learned. Were your results good? Do they agree with what you expect? Was there uncertainty and did you explore that? Hints for what to include will be included in future templates.) Example: The goal of this lab was to acquire Microsoft Excel and an iOLab Repository account and to learn how data and images of these programs could be pasted into a lab report. All of these goals were accomplished with complete accuracy. No data analysis was conducted. In future weeks, we will use these programs to analyze other physics experiments....
