Hypotheses and Observations: Part 1: Watery, Slippery Part 2: 1.) Slime will pick-up water-soluble ink 2.) Silly Putty will pick-up insoluble ink Part 3: The highlighter spread the most while the dry erase marker and permanent marker did not move at all Post-Lab Questions:
1.) Water soluble inks, “like dissolves like” – water is polar just as water soluble inks are polar 2.) Slime picked-up the highlighter (which was proven polar) whereas the Silly Putty did not (which proves it is non-polar and unable to pick-up water-soluble inks) 3.) All of the inks were properly classified as soluble and insoluble except for the uni-ball® Roller Pen which was neither proven neither soluble nor insoluble in the experiment...
